The Story Behind the Studio

Some people spend years trying to name their purpose.

Ashlee Lewis wrote and illustrated hers in the second grade.

Inspired by her aunt and uncle - two attorneys navigating the legal industry in the early 1990s - Ashlee became fascinated by what lawyers could do for people. Not in the abstract and not just in courtrooms, but in real life.

Helping someone buy a home. Helping a family understand what to sign. Helping a person feel less alone when the paperwork, systems, or decisions in front of them felt bigger than they were.

Even then, the mission was simple: use the law to help people protect what matters.

That clarity only deepened. The summer before her senior year of high school, Ashlee earned a competitive internship with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. The program included legal workshops, mentorship, and real exposure to the justice system, ending in a mock trial.

Ashlee served as defense counsel.

She won.

And she never really looked back.

Over time, that early sense of purpose became more focused.

Lewis Legacy Law Studio grew from that through-line: legal guidance for people who do not need to be talked over, talked down to, or rushed through decisions that matter.

Built for the People Who Need Clarity

After law school, Ashlee built a career across corporate, nonprofit, family, public benefits, education, business, intellectual property, and estate-related legal matters.  Her experience includes legal work connected to major corporate environments, nonprofit service, family advocacy, education matters, public benefits, contract review, business formation, and legacy planning.

But the thread running through all of it has always been the same: People need legal guidance before everything becomes a crisis.

They need someone who can explain what matters, organize what feels overwhelming, and help them make informed decisions without legalese, fear, or shame.

Lewis Legacy Law Studio was created for the capable but overwhelmed person trying to protect their families, advocate for themselves, understand important documents, or build something meaningful — but who needed the law translated into plain English and turned into a clear plan However,

The parent sitting in an IEP meeting, unsure what they are being asked to sign.

The family that knows they need wills, powers of attorney, or health care documents, but keeps putting it off because the process feels heavy.

The young adult turning 18 whose family suddenly realizes the law now sees them differently.

The solopreneur building something real, but unsure whether the business foundation is strong enough.

The person representing themselves who needs a calm, strategic legal guide.

This studio exists for people who are trying to build stability, protect their families, understand their options, and move forward with confidence.

Why Legacy?

When Ashlee’s grandmother passed, something shifted.

She became deeply focused on legacy - not just inheritance, assets, or what gets passed down on paper, but the fuller meaning of the word.

Legacy is how you make people feel.

It is what you protect.

It is what you put in place so the people you love are not left guessing.

It is the business you build, the family you support, the child you prepare for, the wishes you make known, and the decisions you have the courage to make while you are still here. That belief shaped Lewis Legacy Law Studio.

Because everyone deserves access to legal tools that help them leave their mark; not only people with generational wealth, corporate counsel, or a family attorney on speed dial.

Legacy is not just money.

Legacy is preparation.

Legacy is protection.

Legacy is care made practical.

Why Non-Litigation?

Lewis Legacy Law Studio focuses on non-litigation legal guidance: the planning, documents, conversations, and decisions that help protect your people before a crisis forces the issue.

Because legacy needs to be secured in the battles outside the courtroom just as much as it does within it.

That happens at your kitchen table.

In a doctor’s office.

During an IEP meeting.

Before you sign a contract.

When your child turns 18.

When you decide to start a business.

When you finally say, “I need to get my affairs in order.”

The goal is not to make the law feel more complicated than it has to be. The goal is to help you understand what is in front of you, what may be missing, and what next step makes sense.

WORKING WITH THE STUDIO

Legal support should not make you feel smaller.

When you work with Ashlee, the goal is for you to leave feeling more assured, more capable, and more grounded than when you arrived.

Not talked down to.

Not rushed.

Not buried in legal jargon.

Not made to feel like you should have known better.

You should leave understanding what matters, what your options are, and what your next step can be.

The work is practical. The tone is human. The care is real.

That has been the goal since the second grade.

Some things do not change.
