Special Education Advisory
Illuminate Children’s Legal Belonging
Taking your family from overwhelmed to prepared.
WHO THIS IS FOR
For parents who walk in scared and walk out informed, ready to advocate.
We are your translator, your coach, and your guide - helping you understand the system and advocate with confidence.
ICLB is for the parent sitting in an IEP meeting unsure of what they are signing. The caregiver who knows something is not right but does not know how to ask for it. The family navigating a system that feels designed to confuse rather than support.
You have rights in that room. We make sure you know how to use them.
This service is advisory and counseling only. Lewis Legacy Law Studio does not provide DOE litigation, due process representation, formal dispute filings, DOE appearances, or school/DOE communications under ICLB.
WHAT ADVISORY AND COUNSELING MEANS
Advisory and counseling means we help you understand - not take over.
We review your child’s documents, explain what they mean in plain language, and help you prepare to advocate confidently on your own terms. We do not appear at meetings on your behalf, communicate with the DOE or school on your behalf, file complaints, negotiate, or serve as attorney of record.
Our role is limited to the advisory and counseling services described in your engagement agreement.
You remain the advocate. We make sure you know exactly what you are advocating for.
START HERE: FREE 30-MINUTE CONSULTATION
Every ICLB client begins with a free 30-minute consultation - not the Studio’s standard 15-minute discovery call. This is a longer conversation because your situation deserves it.
You will leave this consultation with something regardless of next steps: clarity on your options, a referral to the right resource, or a clear path forward with Lewis Legacy Law Studio.
No one leaves empty-handed.
The free consultation is designed to understand your situation, identify whether ICLB is the right fit, and provide a general next step. It does not include document review, legal opinion, meeting preparation, emergency advice, or communication with the school or DOE unless separately agreed.

Parent Clarity Summary
Parent Strategy Summary
Annual rights check-in
3–5 days of limited email follow-up for clarifying questions
Please Note: Advocacy Support is advisory only. It helps you understand the dispute, organize your concerns, identify questions, and prepare for your own meeting or next step.
It does not include drafting complaints, due process filings, state complaints, settlement demands, formal legal strategy for litigation, communication with DOE or school personnel, meeting attendance, negotiation, or representation.
GOOD TO KNOW
ICLB covers one IEP or 504 plan per engagement unless the package expressly includes more. Additional documents require a separate conversation.
Dispute advisory is available under the Advocacy Support Plan only. If a dispute situation surfaces during a lower-tier engagement, that is an upgrade conversation - not additional scope absorbed into the existing engagement.
Transition planning is advisory only. No agency applications, no meeting advocacy, no legal strategy around disputed transition services, and no representation in adult-services matters are included.
All ICLB services are limited-scope advisory and counseling only. We help you understand and prepare; we do not take over, appear, file, negotiate, communicate, or advocate on your behalf. If your situation requires more than that, we will tell you honestly and refer you to the right person.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Every ICLB engagement begins with your free 30-minute consultation so we understand your child’s situation before anything else.
Documents are submitted and reviewed in advance. You will never sit across from someone seeing your child’s plan for the first time.
You will leave with something. Whether that is a Parent Clarity Summary, a strategy for your next meeting, a clear next step, or a referral to the right resource, you will not leave empty-handed.
If at any point your situation requires formal legal representation, we will tell you clearly, refer you warmly, and document that referral.
JUST NEED HELP UNDERSTANDING YOUR CHILD’S ASSESSMENT REPORTS?
$650
Sometimes the assessments land in your inbox and nothing makes sense. If you need a plain-language walkthrough of what your child’s assessment reports actually mean for their legal rights and services - without a full IEP review - we can handle that as a standalone session.
What’s Included
60-minute session
Review of one set of assessment reports before the session
Plain-language explanation of what the assessments mean for your child’s legal rights and services
Applied discussion based on your child’s specific documents - not a general overview
Good to Know
This service does not include IEP review, 504 review, meeting preparation, written summary, or follow-up window.
Assessment Report Review explains the legal and educational significance of the reports for advocacy and services. It does not include clinical, psychological, medical, diagnostic, or educational testing opinions.
Need more support beyond this session? Our ICLB packages cover the full picture - starting at $950.
